I really plan on going to Madrid, Spain in el futuro for approximately 6 months. I have visited before, loved it, and want to get back for an extended time. I have above-average Spanish skills currently; by the time I go, I hope to be a lot better.
Can anyone give me any first-hand advice about enjoying this trip?
I plan on saving money beforehand, but what are my best options for (at least part-time) employment? I’m fairly well informed about legal employment restrictions (I’m American), but is there any way to get extra cash while I’m there?
Just to clarify, I have a bachelor’s degree in PR/Journalism, and currently work in Special Event Marketing, and I’m fairly talented musically. I’m a 23 y.o. male.
Specifically, are there any jobs I can do thru freelancing, english instruction, music, waitering… etc? Are those my only options? If I were to freelance, what are the legal implications of this, and if none, what fields would be particularly valuable there? (Madrid)
Again, I’ve looked at all the internet, books, etc. have to offer in the way of advice; I need first-hand advice and recommendations from some Straight Dopers. Thanks in advance!
