Advice needed- Ant problem

Hey all.

Just mopping the kitchen when I noticed I’ve now got ants. Little tiny ones, but maybe two dozen of 'em at least. No idea what the heck they’re feeding on, as I don’t keep my food anywhere but the refrigerator (due to a former apartment that had -serious- bug problems). I’m something of an entamaphobe, so if anyone could give me some good practical advice on how to shew these little pests out, it’d be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. I got a few boxes of ant hotels (like roach motels, but for ants), placed them in various places around the kitchen (by the 'fridge, the microwave, under the sink, etc.) and they haven’t come back in two years.

Equal parts powdered sugar, borax. Add some bakers yeast if you like. Make a trail around your cupboards with it. The sugar attracts them and the borak kills 'em in the nest. Forget what the yeast is for. You can also add a little water or something to make it into a poultice. They carry bigger chunks back to the nest for the family.

I’ve got a bit of an ant problem. Any suggestions?

Go the easy way. Buy an aerosol can of surface spray/residual insectide and spray the skirting borads and any floor areas that you don’t regularly walk on. Effective within a few hours. Works for six month. No messy, loose, edible poisons floating around your house.
