Advice on moving to London

I’ve only met two others although I’m sure there are more, but then one dopefest does not a summer make… or something.

Sorry to disappoint, but the Marriott Regent’s Park is not at all posh. I’ve never stayed there, but a geographically accurate name would actually be the “Marriott (looks a bit like a 1970s airport hotel) Swiss Cottage”. It’s within walking distance of Regent’s Park but a lot closer to the Luton-esque concrete shopping arcade at Swiss Cottage…

On a more positive note, it’s not a bad area, and it’s also within walking distance (or a short bus journey) of Chalk Farm and Camden Town, which have plenty of pubs, bars, restaurants and clothes markets, and is also on a bus route to Notting Hill if the more genteel antiques markets there take your fancy. It’s also close to Primrose Hill, one of the nicer open spaces in north London.

Could one of you swing by and pick me up for the LondonDopeFest? It’s not that far out of your way.

Sure, I was planning to pass by Nebraska to get some milk anyway.

I never claimed it to be posh - all I know is that I am paying 125GBP which comes out of my relo-allowance. So the sooner I find something the better. I’m thinking of just finding a flatshare and then take my time finding something I really like and can afford

No worries, no offence meant - it’s a good location to start looking from. Pretty handy for transport too.

Much obliged! We don’t need to go as far as Nebraska for milk–Wisconsin is full of dairy cows. Pick me up at 8?

Sorry to res this thread but I tried to email Future Londonite and it bounced back.

FL - are you here yet? You said you were starting your new job in April but it seemed implied you would be here before that, wondered if it was the case. If so when are we having our dope fest???

Are girls allowed to join in? Only I’m moving back to London in a couple of weeks…

The more the merrier I say.
