I shut off my LinkedIn account years ago, due to the annoying e-mails informing me of the multiple people searching me, as well as the numerous people using it to contact me for marketing purposes. That said, LinkedIn still e-mails me regularly on folks searching me, although won’t tell me who unless I log back in.
Now I’m considering re-joining for career purposes, as many companies looking to fill certain positions use it (along with Indeed).
If I rejoin, I don’t want everyone who’s ever tried to contact me (or even contacts I had before I shut it off) to get a notification. Additionally, I want to post my resume, but don’t want the public to be able to see it. I want to be able to only share it with individuals after I’ve been able to vet them.
Is there any way to accomplish these? I’m afraid that LinkedIn will go ahead and inform everyone the second I log back in.
Same questions for Indeed, which I don’t think I ever shut off, but just stopped using.
