I’m going to check around for the various options including AFLAC but wanted to hear from people who have this type of insurance and their experiences. I take home $750-800 a week on average, if I could not work for a time would like to get that much. About what would that cost me per month. Is 3 weeks about how long I would have to wait for the 1st check?
what you’re looking for is private (non-employer) short term or long term disability insurance. Several companies offer them. The policy terms differ significantly. You might want to look at “own occupation” rather than “any occupation” coverage, so you get paid if you can’t drive but theoretically could do something else. (they’ll always say you could be doing something else)
