What I want to know is:
whodunit?

I saw the first half of the PBS special, won’t be watching the second half, and I’m curious to see who it is.

I don’t know if the plot has been changed in the version you were watching, but in the original novel, the murderer was:

Lady Westholme, the MP, who had orginally been in gaol in the US before going to the UK and becoming an MP. Mrs Boynton knew this from her time working as a gaoler.
