Age Cannot Wither her

Helen Mirren. Mmmm mmm mmm. Not only that, but she drips class, she sounds British but looks Russian ('cause she’s British born of Russian lineage), and she can act.

I’m thinking Kate Mulgrew. She was kind of a bleh ingénue as Mrs. Columbo, blossomed into cool elegance as Kathryn Janeway, and now seems to be mellowing into a comfortably upholstered loveliness.

Helen Hunt has gone Hollywood – too thin, too made-up, too designer-crazy. That look doesn’t age well. But I loved her, sweatshirts and tired eyes and all, in As Good As It Gets.

Christy Brinkley - Age 51- ish Still looks hot in those Soloflex commercials

Dawn Wells is in her 60s, and she still looks better than most thirtysomethings that I know.

Dang.

The first name that came to my mind too. It’s not just that she’s still relatively young and good looking, as Padeye pointed out. It’s that she looks better now than she did early in her career (in my eyes, at least). And she’s become a better actress, too. Works for me.

Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton are two country ladies who simply do not age.

The other night I was channel surfing, and caught Stockard Channing in Grease, singing “The Worst Thing I Could Do”, and I thought, “damn! She looks way better in The West Wing than she did in Grease almost thirty years ago!”

Thanks for the info, Doug. I hadn’t recognized it as such prior to your post, but I think her Russian heritage is responsible for the look that I found appealing about her…and, like you say, she can act.

Now to name one who can’t act - as her resume can attest - I nominate Lee Radziwill. (Jackie Kennedy’s sister, for you youngsters out there.) I saw her on Larry King’s show a year or two ago, and although she is in her seventies I remember being struck by how sexy, beautiful and fascinating she was.
