celebrities who (naturally) look better as they get older

Ok, I was watching old Knight Rider reruns this morning, and Geena Davis was in the episode. It occurred to me that she looks MUCH better now, than when she was younger. I can think of some others who get sexier as they get older, as well.

Sharon Stone
Kim Basinger
Sigourney Weaver
Michelle Pfieffer
Cybill Shepard
Kirstie Alley
Meg Ryan
Susan Sarandon

people who got ugly:

Madonna
Melanie Griffith
Farrah Fawcett
Kathie Lee Gifford

My wife swears that Sean Connery has gotten better as he got older. She hates the way he looks in the earliest Bond films.

I’m a man, and even I think that “Mr. Bond,” is quite dashing in his latter years. I only hope that I look that good when I get his age.

Gotta go with Sean Connery too. Mmmmmmm!

Eric Estrada!

I don’t get this. Maybe it’s just me, but … I think the only thing still sexy about Sean Connery is his voice.

::runs before being stoned for blasphemy::

Lillian Gish, Helen Hayes and Kate Hepburn all aged well . . . I think the main point is, they aged gracefully, which isn’t being done much anymore.

As for men, Sam Neill has not reached the point yet where age has hurt his charms.

Goldie Hawn!

I swear, she must work out like a DOG to keep that figure! And her hair…why, it’s just as shiny and gold as it was when she was dancing in a bikini on LAUGH IN. And her youthful features have barely changed, either.

Must be that healthful Southern California air. And chamomile shampoo, of course.

Catherine Deneuve!
End of discussion.

Harrison Ford is MUCH more attractive now than he was 20 years ago. He’s got that ruggedly handsome look, much like Sean Connery.

Aged badly? Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford. Yet another reminder to stay out of the sun, folks.

Raquel Welch! I have never seen anyone her age look so good. I have a strong oedipus complex with her

Renee Russo. She’s gorgeous!
Barbara Streisand just does it for me. I don’t care if she’s old enough to be my mother.

And for the record, although it’s a minor league hijack, I think that Maureen O’Hara, especially in The Quiet Man, was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.

She’s your mom? Wow, a star’s child on the SDMB?

How impressive

Ike, did you ever see that episode of “The Critic” where they showed a very brief clip of Willard Scott on TV with a picture of a skull behind him, wishing Goldie Hawn a happy 100th birthday? Priceless!

Raquel Welch could be my mom and looks way better than my mom. That’s why I chose her for my oedipus complex

Don’t know if this counts, but I think Cary Grant went from being a suave, handsome young man to being a debonair, classy-looking old man. Like Kate Hepburn, he aged well and wore his age with grace.

I also second Geena Davis, Goldie Hawn and Harrison Ford. It’s not that they’ve maintained their youthful good looks, but that age hasn’t made them look decrepit. You can throw Dick Van Dyke in there, as well. For a guy who’s hovering around 70 (if he hasn’t gone round that bend) he looks and acts pretty damn young.

The only two words that really matter on this topic - Sela Ward.

Just yesterday, the San Francisco Examiner had an article entitled, “Rene Russo: ‘I’m 46 – get over it’”

Raquel Welch, of course has been mentioned. (she’s the classic example of looking better with age.) How old is she now? 50? 60?
Another one which comes to mind is Sophia Loren-not getting better, but still staying pretty damn good.

Kathleen Turner
You know, the one from all the Romancing the Stone movies? She just keeps getting sexier, plus she’s got that voice.Never before have Burger King commercials had such an effect on me.
Whew.
