was exactly my thought - Thor 2 clearly takes place after Avengers, likely after IM3 - Sheild is after Avengers and also after IM3 (or they wouldn’t be calling it ‘extremis’)
“You got your pesto in my aioli!”
I thought the episode was okay. I also think the show is getting better. I’m still in for now.
Didn’t they say in IM3 how long Tony spent building all those… things… that showed up at the end of the movie? Six months to a year? That’s a good chunk of time to advance the clock.
He specifically states that “its been 6 months - I’m still having nightmares” and the implication is that he’s downstairs fabbing instead of either sleeping or getting therapy. He jumps from a Mark 7 suit to a 40something in 6 months, with a plethora of other variations that address different types of threats.
Avengers looks to be set in late spring to early summer judging by what people on the streets are wearing right before they get invaded. IM3 has a Christmas. Makes sense for that to be within the same year.
Ah, that settles it then. I rewatched specifically to hear if there’s mention of a timeframe since New York, then I guess I blanked out on the purpose of the rewatching because that line blew past me with my registering it.
So, yeah. Tony brought down Killian’s Extremis project before the SHIELD T.V. show uncovers a new Extremis program. I’d say that AIM can not be the Big Bad that the show is building to uncover, though. In this shared universe, AIM was the public face of Killian’s organization- it wasn’t a secret organization. They even had contracts with the U.S. Government. So, whoever the Big Bad is on the T.V. show, it isn’t going to be AIM.
I’m pretty sure the Big Bad that will be revealed in time will be S.H.I.E.L.D.
