Ahh! Tell me my Commodore games are okay!

Hey, just because I’ve never owned a Commie of any sort (truly amazing considering the number of crappy old computers that have passed through my hands) doesn’t mean I never wanted one and din’t keep track of their models.

I don’t have the 1541 in the picture - mine does not have the twist-down latch, but I have the push-down slot/door in the centre of the disk slot.

Something’s gotta be out of place in there, because last night I put a disk in that had earlier been declared blank by the drive, and I was able to pull up the directory. Also, I tried another disk with 4 games on it; a couple days ago I could only load and play one of the games, the other two made error noises and crashed during loading. As of last night all 4 games loaded and played perfectly.

Yeah, I know it has a latch, Pulykamell. What I was saying was that I remembered my 1541 looking more like the VIC-1541 than the 1541-II in color and design. My wanting to check it was to confirm that, not the latch. The link in your later post, #20, shows what I have. Mine has no spring that pushes against the disk either.

I actually was confirming your post. I meant it to be more of a reply to Balthisar’s post.
