Air America: Bankrupt Again.

This has been asserted repeatedly by you and by BobLibDem. So, since you are so keen on demanding citations, I’m going to do the same: Cite?

Well, sorta

Well, okay, it had to be her brand of reasoning, or you were in trouble, you betcha…

Their ratings.

It’s a good cite. The ‘telling them what to think’ is fairly accurate, too. I like listening to Rush, myself. The man has talent. And charisma. I like listening to him speak.

I just can’t stand what he has to say for very long.

Air America, when I listened to it, I was hoping for something like NPR, or a good show. All I got were polemics and pain in the assery that I didn’t want to listen to.

Then you’ll have to explain why the Right wants the government to make the decisions on the following:

  • Drugs
  • Abortion
  • Pornography
  • Whom can get married to whom.

And they are?

I want to know how many people listen to Rush Limbaugh. Let’s just stick to Rush. What’s his rating and share?

I don’t know the Arbitron ratings, but I’ve heard Limbaugh himself claim 20 million listeners a week. I know he has enough power to able to call all the shots in the Republican Party.

Of course, that’s just one show, and it’s just the radio. Fox News draws even more.

OK, so no cite. I guess I’ll have to live with anecdote. Your post is your cite.

Rush Limbaugh is my cite. If you think he’s lying, I won’t argue with you. It sure wouldn’t be a shock.

Do you think his ratings are actually anemic, and that he draws his enormous salary for nothing? Why must GOP leaders lie prostrate before him and beg his forgiveness for dissenting with him if he has no sway over their base?

Man, this one was fucking tough! “Ratings Rush Limbaugh”

Fifteen million is likely a good guess, but only that.

The delicious irony of you citing Rush Limbaugh and asserting his claims as truth exempts you from actually answering the question. I’m quite satisfied that I’ve made my point.

I didn’t assert them as truth, I asserted them as the words of Rush Limbaugh.

He said it and you see no reason to doubt it? Given your stance on everything else he says, that is laughable in the extreme.

You know, when someone else says anything you demand a cite, but when you say something dubious you blow it off.

Thank you, elucidator, for doing his homework in demonstrating the falsity of the assertion “Conservatives can’t get enough of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity telling them what to think” with actual numbers, estimates though they are. Even at 20 million that still leaves the vast majority of self-identified conservatives as non-listeners.

Are you REALLY arguing whether or not Rush Limbaugh has good ratings? Dude, you’re just trying to find something to pick on, and you didn’t do a good job of that. Here, let me Google that for you. . .

First link from “Rush Limbaugh ratings” search. Not nationwide, but details several cities.

This whole thread is ridiculous. All of you petty so-and-so’s have got to log off the computer for a few minutes, get your respective panties unbunched, and come back ready to support the claims and opinions that are flying around here like shrapnel on D-Day. When come back, try to stay on main point and not argue stupid stuff like whether the most popular man on talk radio has good ratings.

It’s called Great Debates, not Great Pissing Matches.

I know his ratings are good. That’s not what that was about.

That was about Diogenes repeatedly demanding cites and then refusing to give them himself. I could have looked it up, but I’m not the one claiming that “Conservatives can’t get enough of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity telling them what to think”. Not only didn’t he do his own homework on a patently absurd statement, but he repeated the assertion numerous times when all he had to do was look it up. Instead he took the word of the same bloviating windbag that he denounces, only this time it’s acceptable? But hey, I love doing the legwork to disprove something that had no basis in reality to begin with simply because someone else asserted it.

This is an absurd claim. Do you really believe that? He might have some influence, I’ll grant that, but “…enough power to call ALL the shots in the Republican Party”?

Just showing off my mad Google skills, which neither of you two seemed able to do. Way I see it, you and Dio were having an argument and I won.

Forget it, Jake, it’s synope.

Not my job. If you make a claim, you back it up, or stop asking for cites.
