But it will accomodate a young cat!
I found out by leaving a floor register uncovered while doing some work on my house. Kitty thought this was wonderful, a new game, a maze I’d created for her. (She thinks nearly everything I do is a game for her!) Took some time, with calling & treats, to get her to come back out again.
And it was just as people have mentioned:
- I was able to track her location from the sound of her footsteps inside the ducts, even for a small, light cat. Humans would be much noiser.
- she was absolutely filthy when she came out.
P.S. Didn’t seem to harm her much.
I was a nervous wreck afterwards, but she was quite calm. And she seems to want to do it again. She bats her toys into the floor register, when I take it up to get them out, she attempts to leap into the ductwork. Sometimes I think she does that deliberately; she seems to be waiting right there to jump inside.
