Over the last few weeks I’ve seen an Air Jordan TV commercial that has really gotten my attention. It is the last few moments of what looks to be a college basketball game. The ball is stolen and taken to the hoop as time expires. The shots are of the anguished faces of the players, cheer leaders, coaches and spectators as defeat is snatched from the jaws of victory. Sort of an “agony of defeat” thing.
What interests me, however is the music. Some sort of liturgical music, probably a requiem. I don’t think it’s Britten’s War Requiem or Mozart. Anybody know?
As for the commercial, the scenario doesn’t make much sense. They’re up 1 with about 8 seconds to go, so why are they moving with the ball? You play keep-away and try not to let them foul you.
