Who is forcing them to stay in Ukraine? You really haven’t given a strong justification for them forcing their region to become part of Russia. Please explain what right they have to try and change the border. The US is filled with areas where there is “strong political division” and you don’t see this kind of shit happening.
If these people consider themselves Russian, and they want Russian passports, and they want to swear allegiance to Putin and Russia - I have an idea where they might move.

Those are Russian Ukrainians Putin has already offered citizenship to. I wouldn’t call them refugees, I’d call them emigres. Let them go. Apparently Russia is short on cheap labor.
The fact that they didn’t feel the urge to leave until a civil war broke out in their country , makes me think that ‘refugee’ is the appropriate term.
