Anyone here do Airsoft? You know, run around like damnfool idiots out in the woods, shooting plastic-bb-shooting-but-look-very-realistic guns?
After a bit of convincing from my coworkers, I went out last night and, after borrowing a gun and a helmet, engaged in about three hours of fun. Those little sucker sting!
Anyway, anyone got any suggestions for getting into it? I can see that the guns are pretty pricey… but I imagine you get what you pay for.
I never played, I was on the fringe of a group of players. One of the co-owners of a game store I worked for also owned a chain of Airsoft stores in Atlanta, Nashville and he was expanding to Vegas I think. It looks like fun, but not my cup of tea. 6’6" is a bit toooooooo easy to hit

Loads of fun. Pretty much the only exercise I get nowadays, too. I’ve gotten pretty good at the whole “being quiet” thing.

Anyway. Wal-Mart has some decent “starter” pistols and rifles. For a little better quality I’d check out some sporting goods stores. Airsoft stores are a little more exclusive, but they’re more expensive, and most of the ones you get at sporting goods stores are just as good (not all, but most).
