Whatever, dude. It’s obvious from my post that I knew exactly what they are (this is an Airwolf thread after all), and they aren’t just a 222 and a 206, even if the AW clone doesn’t have the jet engine pods. They are, for all intents and purposes, the choppers from AW.=, and I thought that was funny.
Someone in the Fujimi art department made a bit of unauthorized copyright infringement, apparently without any repercussions. Must be classed under “fair use”.
lol Never thought of the fridge… Always remembered the electric lights to enlight the paintings
Thanks for explaining that to me. Found sources saying it was only one year and otheres talking about two… very confusing!
In Germany there are different types of higher education schools than universities and they do have diffferent kind graduations than a university. I tried to look it up but your explanation is the first one that I understand!
Now that you mention it… I remember one episode, where he needs money very badly and says to Dom that he could sell one of the paintings… maybe you’re right…
It always bothered me, that String at first was the only one who could fly the Lady and in the end even Cate could fly it. “Icecream man” is a nice word, though… Always thought of them both as “Snow Patrol” ggg
I think that line is from another episode… the one with the blond blue eyed boy that String thinks could be his son. It’s his old girl friend from Vietnam who says it when he meets her at the airbase. Her husband is trying to sell a military plane to Russia in order to get this boy.
Actually the name thing was the reason I found this forum.
Call me a silly, crazy girl and I will gleefully agree
To my honor I want to say that I never ever had one person I could talk about this great show for almost 30 years! It’s been shown on German TV every now and than on lower rated TV stations but somehow no one seems to know it…
The electricty thnin is quite interesting. Thanks for explaining!
I always believed and still do, that every TV show and every movie has it’s own world with it’s own rules. Off course Airwolf is not possible in the real world. For the resaonss you mention but I guess also for fuel reasons. I looked up, what’s the normal helicopter range and that’s not much. And I guess a heavy, fast travelling helicopter like Airwolf needs even more fuel than a normal helicopter would. So there would be no chance that he could fly to Russia or across the US to Mexico from a remote den. And how could a plane sink into the sea when flying from California to Texas?
But I tell you, once you agree that every show takes place in its own universe… it’s much easier to watch and believe
Never knew stuff like that even exists! Thank you!
Stuff like that is definetly not common, or ever was, in Germany! Thanks!
I remember I saw some episodes on TV and that I always wanted to see the episode again, where Dom dies, String is off to an unknown fate (but I guess he died, too) and the whole new crew is invented. I also saw some of the new episodes than, but it was String I was in love with, not St, John.
Besides that I just can’t believe and never will, that St. John would spend … I guess it must be 19 years by then… in freedom without telling String that he was fine! He must have known how much him going MIA would trouble his brother, especially when he feels responisible for that.
Besides that no St. John, not the one in the original show and not the new one, ever matched my imagination of Strings brother.
After rewatching I must admitt, that the storylines went down from somewhere in season 2 anyway. I won’t say that Cate’s the one to blame for that, but she just doesn’t fit in there. And String became to soft… I liked the doomed one in the first episodes much better.
So yeah, the new show sucks and I never could manage to watch the episode mentioned above so far, because it feels like saying good bye to Airwolf and String. I do rewatch my favroite episodes every now and then, though, especialy when I am on night shift and don’t have internet for watching netflix it is always Airwolf I take with me
Thank you all for answering this silly, crazy OP who puts way to much thoughts in a TV show she likes for 30 years now.
Have a nice day
This was even more of a problem for the final series after the chopper had been sold. They ended up recycling footage from the earlier shows, there’s no new chopper footage in that series at all.
I was born ‘in L.A.’ (actually a suburb of L.A., but close enough), grew up in San Diego, lived in the desert of northern L.A. County from 15 to 26, and lived in the City of Los Angeles until 2003. So I didn’t exactly have a rural upbringing. The only place I ever saw a gas refrigerator was at my grandparents’ place. Apparently, such appliances were common in rural areas back in the olden days (as ElvisL1ves noted), but I would not have known of them were it not for my grandparents.
On a side note, the house I bought in 2003 in northern Washington, that was built in 1934, is the first place I’ve lived without circuit breakers (a situation remedied last week) or piped-in natural gas (still a sore spot, as there’s a gas main maybe 40 or 50 metres away). But at least I don’t have to run a refrigerator from the propane tank!
