Al Martino--Italian lyrics

On the record of “To the Door of the Sun” that I have, Al Martino sings one verse in Italian. But I searched via AOL, and the websites that print lyrics for that song print them only in English. How can I find the Italian lyrics?

Alle Porte Del Sole was originally recorded by Italian singer Gigliola Cinquetti in 1973. Al Martino recorded the English version To the Door of the Sun (with several Italian verses) in 1975. According to Martino himself, his release was not an exact translation, although the arrangement was pretty much the same. Translation notwithstanding, Cinquetti’s song has two additional verses over Martino’s.

Here is a video (3 min 37 sec) of Cinquetti’s original. It has a very Eurovision feel to it, perhaps unsurprisingly since Gigliola won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964, singing Non Ho L’Età (I’m Not Old Enough), at the age of 16.

Gigliola is very easy on the eye, which is why I’ve linked to her instead of to Martino.

Grazie!
I went to that first link and found the Italian lyrics even Martino sang.
Now, if I could just find the Polish lyrics Bobby Vinton sang in “Wooden Heart” (the websites print the German lyrics instead!)

That’s a tough one.

He slipped a few lines of Polish into My Melody of Love as well, but those are printed and available. I guess if you have Polish ancestry there must be a temptation to do this kind of thing.

I suppose you could put something into GQ. You need someone who can translate Swabian into Polish, allowing for any lyrical licence taken by the original translator.

Shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Actually, I have Polish lyrics, but the words were misspelled in the sheet music I got.
Here they are (L represents that palatized L sound, which is represented in Polish script by an L with a line through it).
L’a had na, l’a had na,
Jestes taka l’a had na,
Ja tak kocham cieti jeszt moja dziewcina.
L’a had na, l’a had na,
Jestes taka l’a had na,
Ja tak kocham ciebo masz mil’e serce.

However, I’m not satisfied with these printed lyrics because I want to see the Polish words properly spelled and accented. THAT’s what I’ve been looking for.
