Right now, the Alan Rickman article on Yahoo is #72 of 75 on their headline ribbon.
But ‘How to make ooey, gooey grilled cheese sandwiches’ is article #4.
 :smack:

Well, just imagine Alan Rickman saying ooey, gooey grilled cheese sandwiches.
Gawker actually got it right - their headline:
Alan Rickman, Star of Everything He Appeared In, Dead at 69.
Suddenly I really really want grilled cheese sandwiches. Also who knew grilled cheese sandwiches could make my knees weak?
That is perfectly accurate
That’s really cool.
It’s clearly an awful year to be age 69. Another real heartbreaker to lose such a wonderful, marvelous, exceptional, likeable actor. What a magnificent villain he was! A scenery chewer in all the right ways. I’m so angry that I will never see him in a new film again.
wonderful, perfect, thanks for sharing
Farewell, Colonel Brandon!
Yes, wonderful. A dazzling actor every time. One of my all-time favorites.
Well, there’s one. He’s in the upcoming movie Eye in the Sky about drone war in Kenya. I’m making a point of seeing it.
I wish I could see all his deleted scenes as the Sheriff in Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves. I heard his part was heavily edited for petty reasons.
Hmm… well maybe I can after I get off work.

And, since today was also the day the Oscar nominations were announced, it’s a good time to point out that Alan was never even nominated for an Academy Award. How awful is that?
I think he was nominated a few times, but never won.
I’ve never seen one bad performance by him. Damn.
To add to all the other credits, he was Master of Ceremonies in Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells 2 - and even better at it than Viv Stanshall or any of the other candidates who appear on the single.
“Tell someone that you’re the Metatron and they stare at you blankly. Mention something from a Charlton Heston movie and suddenly everybody’s a religious scholar!”
And Sense and Sensibility. I guarantee you won’t be sorry.
Quite.
Alas, no: List of awards and nominations received by Alan Rickman - Wikipedia
IIRC, J.K. Rowling said once that in the last three HP books, written concurrently with the films, the characters of Snape and Hermione developed as they did because they were played by Alan Rickman and by Emma Watson. DanRad and Rupert Grint were on their own, because JKR had firm ideas of where she wanted Harry and Ron to go, but those others were influenced by her thinking “How would Emma play this?” or “I have to give Alan a really good scene.”

My SO says that at this rate we’ll only have Jayden Smith and Channing Tatum left over by 2017.
I kicked him in the shin.
