Alarm clocks, are you a snoozer?

I almost never snooze. I set the alarm for the last possible time that it’s OK to wake up, and I get up. Anything else is just torture and stress.

My boyfriend… not sure if he actually snoozes, but he lays around in bed for a long time before getting up. He was visiting (he lives in another state) during spring break a few months ago. It was his spring break and mine, but my son was still in school. I set the alarm for 7am so that I could get my son up for school. His bus comes at 7:20. He prefers to eat breakfast at school, so getting up at 7 means he can get dressed, brush his teeth, etc, and then make it to the bus. But not much more. (When I am in school the alarm is set for 6:30 so that I also have time to get up and eat and so on–on those days we watch tv together in the morning.)

So anyway, my boyfriend is visiting and he very kindly offers to get Dominic up in the morning so that I can sleep, since I never ever get to do that. The alarm goes off at 7am and I wake him up (it’s on my side of the bed) and roll back over. But I don’t feel him getting out of bed. In fact he didn’t actually manage to get out of the bed until about 7:08, by which time I was so stressed out and COMPLETELY awake with worry that I was about to get up and get Dominic out of bed myself. Dominic did manage to rush really fast and get dressed and out the door in time to not miss the bus, but that was WAY too close for me. Thanks, but no thanks.
