Albums you will defend in the midst of criticism

**I’ll defend anything by Weird Al. I usually have to when I’m with my cousins because they hate Weird Al. I had to defend him last summer/fall when I was so excited about going to his concert. Mention Weird Al, and there are many who like to say he sucks. The most common “myth” people whine about him is, “He never writes his own songs! He just copies off of other people. If I were [insert singer who was parodied] I’d be pissed, and they probably are.” I have to explain that he does write many of his own songs, and that the people he parodies off actually love the fact that he does (except for the incident with Coolio, but I think Coolio was lying). Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain has said that he didn’t know they were famous until Weird Al decided to parody them.

Also, a long time ago, Weird Al said that Prince turned down his request to parody a song, but I can’t remember which one. I’m a huge Weird Al fan myself. Seen him in concert two times, and hung around the backstage door after one show. He did a “Meet & Greet.” Hell of a nice guy, which just made me more of a fan of his.

“All about Eve” - no Goth cred there, but “Martha’s Harbour” would make it even if all the rest were crap…which they’re not.
