So did Laura Prepon, which is a crime.
But, IIRC from some talk show, she did it for a movie and discovered that more producers became interested in her for other roles as a blond.
What roles are these? She’s scarcely done anything of note since leaving the series. Her red hair was pretty much her signature. By dying it, she became no more different than the hundreds of interchangeable young blonde actresses out there. Changing her hair color was the second biggest mistake she’s made in career (the first was becoming a Scientologist).
BrainGlutton:
Remember Nick of Time? Phone Booth? The whole $#%#@*& 24 series?
The real-time-danger-countdown premise is rarely, if ever, done well.
Don’t be so hasty to rule this type of movie out. It all depends on execution. The template of these movies, the original D.O.A ., did it well as did High Noon .

She dyed it for the starring role in the TV movie, Karla. She’s currently in another tv series, October Road, as one of the leads. As a blonde.
I’m just repeating what she herself said about her hair and career. She’s probably not as objective on the subject as you are.
Going Scientologist is a mistake in many ways, but when did it ever get in the way of an acting career?

But this one has Al Pacino!
Also, I thought people liked “24.”
Pacino’s never been that discriminatory when it comes to choosing roles, has he? I mean, he was in Gigli, for heaven’s sake!
(Witt isn’t a Scientologist, is she? )

I prefer to believe that Martin Brest got some very, VERY incriminating photos of him when he made “Scent of a Woman.”
There’s something about Hollywood that hates hot young redheads on television.
Alicia Witt. Nikki Cox. Laura Prepon. They never seem to go onto the careers you’d expect from them based on their early work.
Laura Prepon is hampered by an inability to act.
According to Wikipedia, Alicia Witt modeled what is thought to be the world’s most expensive hat. I think she’s been neglecting acting because she’s been too busy trying to convince the maker of the world’s most expensive hatpin to let her model that, too.
It’s also been sitting on a shelf for 2 years.

Saw the movie.
What I said before? About it maybe being good? Complete bollocks.
Completely, utterly. Bollocks.
An Earl Dittman quote, I’m telling you. Bigger red flag than Stalin’s birthday.
24 and Phone Booth were (and are) both fantastic.
Nick of Time was alright, and if it didn’t star Johnny Depp would probably have been completely forgotten.
