Someone told me down the pub that in the US, not only can you insure yourself against alien abduction, but incredibly, people have made successful claims! Is there any truth in this?
I am bound by a confidentiality agreement, sorry.
Google Alien Abduction Insurance, many folks do offer it, most as a joke though.
A Google search gives lots of references to UFOlogy websites and wacky businesses (e.g. this, but do any reputable mainstream insurers offer such a policy?
And have any of them ever paid out?
Just a WAG, but I’d be very surprised if any insurer had ever paid out on such a policy.
And zhlf210, what makes you think the U.S. has a corner on the “we’ll insure any fool thing” market? Ever hear of a little outfit called Lloyds of London?
