It looks like some kind of flatworm. I think the worm is that yellow or tan colored object running diagonally from the lower right to the center of the top. Some other articles say it was possibly a pork tapeworm, Taenia solium.
Googling ‘pork+parasite’ (sans quotes) turned up an older news story of a similar incident and gave the name cysticercosis for the one in that particular case. Presumably its the same thing in this case.
Be suspicious if she offers you a free hat.
