all from Ohio

Love too

Contention:
I am not from Ohio.
My indentured servitude to academia brought me here. Yet another proof that studying hard and getting good grades is nowhere near what it’s cracked up to be. . .

Alright, I know what you meant, though.

Phil, you know I am definitely In.I’ll be there,if I have to walk to your house!

IIRC, Toledo on the 29th, Cleveland on the 30th, and Columbus on the 31st.

I assure you, Phaedrus, that although I cannot stop you from entering any public place, you certainly are not invited to my home at any point you can possible imagine. I’d invite loverock and all his friends before I’d invite you. Hell, I’d invite a bus full of syphilitic chimps before I’d invite you.

I’m in. Somebody pick a place and a time.
pl, I think it’s your call !

Hey, cowgod. Are you going to be in Toledo for the holidays, December 29th specifically? Satan in going to be here then. If you’re interested in getting together drop me a line.

Wow, I just found out that I’m a brain dead AOLer.

I’m from Toledo, Ohio originally…I live in Sparks, NV now. I’ll be in Toledo over the holidays…then I’ll realize how cold it gets there in the winter and will be glad to get back.

Born in Youngstown, live in Cleveland… OK, “near” Cleveland (Cleveland is a LOVELY place, by the way. Just thought I’d add that.)

I was born in Cleveland and live in Avon Lake OH (suburban Cleveland).

I lived in Cincinnati for 9 years. I lived in Anderson Township, in south-east Hamilton County. Could any dopers tell me what’s happened along Beechmont Ave. since we moved down here to Florida 2 years ago? We used to love going to Wong’s East (chinese food, corner of Beechmont and Markeley), Pizzaria Uno (in Beechmont Mall), and Jersey Mike’s (subs), in a shopping center near, um… well, I can’t remember the name of the street, but it’s near a White Castle, Ground Round and Discovery Zone, and there’s a small school/seminary behind it where I used to go to kindergarten. Are they all still there?

I could be doing something, but… why?

Born: Columus
Formative years: Hudson
HS: Fremont (Go Little Giants)
Now: Stuck in Delaware (the state)

OK, Cleveland-area (and anyone else who wants to make the drive) Dopers–let’s have a to-do while Satan is here!

I can think of a few places to go for an evening out that reflect the, er, “local color.” Downtown, there’s any number of places in the Flats, like BW3, or Jillian’s, or Dick’s, or John Harvard’s brewpub. There’s the Great Lakes Brewing Co. on W. 25th, or on the East Side there’s Tommy’s in Coventry, or any of the places in Little Italy.

Ideas? Thoughts? Feedback? E-mail me at pldennison@peta.net and we’ll get this thing going.

Gail, If you want to meet Satan and the Cowgod, send me an e-mail and I’ll put something together.

Satan’s plans right now are to hit Toledo on the 29th of December. I was thinking along the lines of Tony Packo’s for starters and then take it from there.

I was born in Patterson, raised in rodent ditch, I mean Beavercreek outside of Dayton. I try not to think about Dayton much, Beavercreek was a nice place, didn’t deserve Dayton. (BeaverCreek is near Huffman Prairie, where the Wrights did most of their flying) I now live in Sillycon Valley, more accurately San Jose/Milpitas. Will be back in the creek come the holidays though.

I live in Kettering, which is just south of Dayton. But we just sold our house, and are looking to move to Prebble County (Eaton/Gratis/Camden area).

I’d been thinking about reviving this thread for a while, but didn’t want the mods jumping on me for doing it. Since it’s already up, though…

Raised in Beavercreek: I used to skip school and go to the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum.

Went to college at The Ohio State University: man, you’ve got to love the Buckeyes! Any school that has it’s own police force, hospital and power plant is okay in my book. 65,000 students a day can’t be wrong!

First job was in Toledo, though I lived in Perrysburg: ahhhh, the Glass City. LOF, Corning, Owens-Illinois and Guardian. Home of the Jeep, the Mudhens and Tony Packos pickled peppers! Good stuff.

Got suckered into moving to North Carolina for the summer, but managed to get back and now all my stuff is in Columbus again. Woohoo!

Fomerly Cleveland Heights: Mitchell’s Candy Store; Stroh’s beer; Forest Hills Park playing Little League with Skippy Stone (now Cubs broadcaster); taking the Rapi to see the Tribe play; flying out of Cuyahoga County Airport; East Ohio Gas’s “Best Location in the Nation” ads; Cedar Point for the post-prom party. I still remember the old telephone exchange YEllowstone-2-XXXX.

I’m surprised that there hasn’t been at least one “Go Tribe” post. Lots of Tribe fans in the current ‘Baseball’ thread.

This thread has taught me how I’ll make my fortune: I’ll register http://www.ghoulardi.com with Network Solutions.
