Voted. It wasn’t terribly crowded, but I went at an off-time, around 11am. Still, I’d say it was more crowded than I’ve seen it in the past. Seems like people are actually getting out and voting this time. My polling place is a salon called Precious Hair & Nails. Which is a pretty funny place to go and vote, but not as funny as it was a few years back when I had to go to Smart & Final to vote.
Mr. Rilch stopped at the polls during his morning jog. Came back to warn me about the lackwits at the polling place, who, among other things, told him he wasn’t in the roster, when in fact, they’d scanned right past his name. When I got there, in the afternoon, they were exactly as he’d described them—told me I’d voted absentee! The person listed BELOW me had done that, as I pointed out.
Lately, the political climate has made me feel very much like I’m living in a Harry Turtledove (non-SF) novel. With that in mind, I looked over both shoulders for Freedom Party stalwarts as I left the polling place. (New cafe, BTW. I hope this is good for their business; the muffin I got was awesome!)
