yawn Guys, it reduces the impact when you repeat yourselves. You really need a marketing department.
Clearly the Beeb did not consult with EasyPhil before publishing this blatant falsehood. Why are they covering up the truth?
[/QUOTE]
I am sure of some things:
a) you are joking
b) EasyPhil is a dick with troll tendencies
c) there was no video last month showing the beheading of Mr Foley
I have no reason to believe anything other than Foley is dead; but purposes are not served by lazy, shorthand reporting.
Which purposes are those again? The purpose of being nitpicky about tragedies? I agree accuracy is very important, but nine pages in, I still don’t know why anybody really gives a fuck. Nobody credible seems to believe these men are alive.
They are in Maui with Whitman, Price and Haddad. It’s the only reasonable explanation.
Going for the prize for most obscure pop culture reference.
Because the OP said the video was “faked”, which, given only a moderately generous interpretation of the word “faked”, is true (at least in part – the OP has declined to expand on his position that the included “still” image is “badly Photoshopped” (which I don’t believe to be true)).
Meanwhile, we have had a fair proportion of these nine pages devoted to an off-topic exposition of why the OP and EasyPhil are utter mongs (facts that I will gladly concede).
I know this is the pit, not a debate, but I am fucking horrified that the respectable press reported the video (at any time, even before “expert confirmation”) as “apparently”/“purportedly” showing the execution.
According to my dictionary those adjectives accurately fit the facts as I understand them, but in the context they are weasle words, and deliver no useful information.
To put it in the simplest of terms (and to invite a certain pounding) I personally find that of the two statements:
A) This video is fake
and
B) This video apparently shows etc
that statement A) is a better description. YMOV.
I am going to bed now, so please don’t think I’m runnning away from all your clever reples.
You’re fucking horrified by the wrong fucking thing.
The video was “faked” NOT by a moderately generous interpretation but by a ridiculously generous interpretation of the word. One that extends well into pedantry and serves no purpose but feeding trolls and conspiracy theorists.
So, congratulations on winning the “Pedant of the Day” award. Your check is in the mail.
Still waiting for the authentication followed by the determination that it was staged.
LOL. I dunno, is it possible that I am fucking horrified by more than one fucking thing in possibly different fucking ways?
It’s worth noting too that there’s not a lot I can do about the fucked up and atavistic Isis, my horror of them is presumably what they want.
I expect the press to deliver factual and unambiguous information, the more heated and emotive the situation, the more important that information becomes.
Carry on bashing the trolls, pretend I’m not here.
Oh thanks, I’ll put it with the others.
You know when David Copperfield *purportedly *makes the Statue of Liberty disappear, that’s faked too. When what is purported and what is real are not the same thing, what else are we to call it?
A guy was murdered and some of the reporting about his murder was inaccurate. One of these things is horrifying and the other is not. If you put them on par with each other, I will continue to tell you that’s stupid.
James Foley’s head is still detached from the rest of his corpse.
So yeah, I’d say you’re still making a pointless and pedantic observation.
I’m not against all pedantry. But when the OP pretty much screams “conspiracy theorist” and the other idjit screams “troll”, blind pedantry for the sake of nothing at all serves no purpose.
Don’t just wait passively. You should share your methods with the experts, to help the process along. With great power comes great responsibility!
Is knowing the identity of James Foleys killer of real importance here? If so, then the edited video leaves a lot in the air.
