Allegorical cats, metaphorical cats. And now Hypoallergenical Cats.

Anyone else see the newly engineered 3,000 dollar cats for people who are allergic to felines? These cats don’t produce whatever it is in their saliva and sweat that make people allergic.
I didn’t think there were many people who loved cats but were allergic to them. But apparantly there are people willing to spend three grand to buy some.

Oh man, I WANT! My boyfriend is allergic to cats, but I’m not. I love 'em.

Hopefully as the novelty wears off, the price will go down, though…

Any idea how credible their claim is? I here they won’t be available until 2007. Have they demostrated prototypes (so to speak)?

I thought that hairless Sphinx cats and the curly-haired Rex breeds were mostly hypoallergenic, since they don’t shed their fur (or lack thereof). Was I misinformed?
