Alright, now I need a lawyer. What's Assault, Battery, A & B . . .

At any rate, call your local bar assn & ask for a $25 for half hour consultation, they should refer you to a lawyer.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that here in the UK, you can be found guilty of assault by having verbally abused someone, ie with no implied threat of violence. I’ll try and find some guidance on it.

In Texas, its just Assualt and aggrivated assault.

Assault be anything from a threat to acutally hitting some one.

Aggravated assault involves a weapon, or serious injury(and If I recall, hitting a police officer is automatically agg. assault). I remeber working nightclub security if someone so much as touched one of us during a confrontation, they usually got charged with assault by contact, which is when someone touches you and find it offensive(basically). When I was about 16 a guy didn’t like my driving much, ran up to my car window and punched me in the nose. He got charged with assault by contact also, so assault has a pretty wide definition in this state. The term battery is not used.

In the UK, burglars don’t burglarize they burgle, don’t they? Lot more economic.
