I read an article this morning about alternative currency. Just looking for more info, what’s the deal with this:

Does using this currency really help the economy as claimed on that site? How could that work?

This is a thinly disguised way of “investing” in silver. At best, silver and gold can be seen as a hedge against inflation. In real life, metals investors are usually disappointed.
