I’ve been using a Zip for 10 years. It meets my needs very well. It now only synchs the time, not my steps. There’s been less and less support for it from Fitbit and this tracker model hasn’t been available for years. It’s time to try something different. Here’s my ideal device, and I welcome your suggestions for a replacement:
- Compact. The Zip is about 1"x1". Many somple pedometers are 2" or even 3" long.
- Has a clip. I don’t mind a carabiner style, but the clip does hold it flush in my pocket and it doesn’t flop around.
- Tracks steps per date, with that information retrievable by scrolling.
- Distance can be toggled between miles and kilometers.
- Reasonably durable.
Things I don’t want:
- Health, sleep, weight, cardio, water, calories, elevation, any other data. Just distance.
- To use my phone. I want a small, ultralight device.
- A wristband.
Preferences:
- I don’t care if it uses a coin battery or usb charging. Don’t want something that can only use contact charging.
- I’d rather not have it spew data to Google or other online or phone synchronization.
- I’d like a non-flimsy device.
- Of course, I’d rather just have my Zip work.
I welcome your suggestions.
