I have a couple of CRT monitors in good condition, but they are now replaced with flat displays in PC use. What could I do with them? What could I do with the electron gun? Does it work outside vacuum?
I also sat on my Nokia N95 three years ago and it’s LCD got broken. Until recently I used it as a modem to send text messages from my computer, but now I have only few messages to send - so I could use it for something else. Any creative ideas?
The gun won’t work without a vacuum (and even if it did, it wouldn’t do a whole lot without the anode accelerating potential), and what would you do with it anyway?
I file a vent in the neck of the tube, and take any old CRT’s to the recycling center by me and let them deal with them. Good riddance.
