Altoids trademark question

I’m looking at a box of Altoids and it says the following:

[sup]The Original Celebrated[/sup]
[sup]CURIOUSLY STRONG[/sup]
CINNAMON[sup]TM[/sup]
[sup]ARTIFICIALLY FLAVORED MINTS[/sup]
ALTOIDS[sup]R[/sup]
[sup]MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN[/sup]

Should I assume from this that the Callard & Bowser company has trademarked the word “cinnamon”?

I don’t think they have trademarked “cinnamon”, but rather the phrase “curiously strong Cinnamon”, or even perhaps the phrase “the original celebrated curiously strong Cinnamon”.
I have always wondered about the placement of these marks…
Right above our heads, we will find the ® mark after the “P” in DOPE, and on a PEPSI COLA can, the mark is after
the PEP.
Dunno, but I too, am strongly curious.

The reason the ® is places under the P is because it’s simply easy to fit under a P; you got a lot of room there.
