I’m calling bullshit! Not that I don’t believe this could have happened, but that the OP would then come here and post it.
This is as serious as my first reply in it (I hope.)
Has customer service dropped so low that one should consider the possibility of being assaulted by employees of a national chain?
Has customer service dropped so low that one should consider the possibility of being assaulted by employees of a national chain? If this is the case, why wouldn’t others do this and sue just to make a few extra bucks?
You should be wondering where the line should be drawn on how racist someone can be, and you crossed it. It would’ve been fine to ask for another CSR to clarify the conflicting solutions, but to ask for a white person to do it? You’re either very dense or a troll. It’s almost unbelievable- not unbelievable that people still think this way, but that they’re so open about it.
No, but the customer isn’t always right. Just because they’re serving you doesn’t allow you carte-blanche (no pun intended) to treat them like shit.
I’m going to go and look at some other threads now.
Thanks. (I think I need sleep, I could have sworn it said “doesn’t”…)
Why didn’t you bring the sales slip, the packaging and everything that came with the mouse when you went back? Also, why did you not ask to speak to a manager; you know, one who might be able to give you the correct company poilcy on returns?
I’m afraid you are indeed a fundamental orifice, and it’s sad that you need to know our opinions.
If I were from Cuba and asked to speak with a Hispanic member of customer service, that would still be racist? If Circut City really felt my behavior was so inappropriate, why did they reward it?
On second thought, maybe I should have moved this to General Questions, since everyone seems to agree that there is a single factual answer to your question.
If you acted as naive and clueless there as you do here, probably because they pitied you.
I had the sales receipt, throw out the packaging because I wasn’t expecting to be sold something that didn’t work.
When you write a parody, isn’t it appropriate to include a link to the original thread?
This is a parody, right? If it’s not, buddy, you’re in for a very rough time.
Both employees told you what the policy was.
It looks to me like you got a pretty clear statement of store policy from both of them. The first one was going to give you a break on it. The second one didn’t know what the first one had said.
Is it really that confusing to you? Both employeees told you the same thing about the policy. One offered to give you a break. The other one apparently didn’t know that someone had already offered to let youslide. Neither employee was rude to you. One was actually nicer than he had to be in offering to accept the returned item without the packaging. There is certainly no evidence whatseoever of any “cultural” differences or any inability to communicate to you what store policy was. Your request for a white employee was offensive and unwarranted and out of the blue.
If if you have a problem with bad grammar being used by employees (and if you’re going to start grammar testing people for menial, service industry jobs, then you’re going to have a lot of understaffed stores), why would you assume that white employee’s grammar would be any better?
The answer to your question is there is no line. You understood what was being communicated to you. You were not treated rudely or unfairly and any racial spin you want to put on your experience is completely tendentious, unjustified and assholish.
I have a feeling copperwindow has an agenda here, and we are not privy to it yet. If you live in North America, you’d have to be living under a rock not to know that yes, you were indeed a racist asshole. What kind of game are you playing here, dude?
So tell us: are you a troll or a racist?
I think you’d lose that lawsuit. State your case: you are upset that people aren’t speaking to you in the proper “Lord’s English”? I’d be much more concerned about…ya know…the war in Iraq, global warming, violence in our neighborhoods, education…
Someone not speaking my concept of proper English? Not that big a deal, really. But, that’s just my take on it, and I never shop at Circuit City anyway. I hear the customers are intolerant and somewhat hostile.
There are some outrageous scenes in some movies from the 'States, and I always thought “C’mon, that can’t be real”.
I agree. We are the unknowing pawns .
But he’s still an asshole.
