Interesting. I can’t tell if the meows are all different, or if I’m suffering from the McGurk effect.
MC’s are pretty chatty. The kitty in residence here is believed to be part Maine Coon and will meow back and forth with me. She’s also in the habit of asking for permission to enter my ‘office’ and bedroom - most of the time. I’m not sure why. I did used to kick her out since she would curl up under the desk. But I finally figured out that I could open the file drawer (It’s about 24-28" deep, double suspension) and put a pillow on top of the files and she’s perfectly happy to curl up there instead.
Things can be dangerous around here so maybe that’s it. I manage to nearly kill myself probably a couple times per week on average so she’s alerting me to take extra care since someone important is now involved.
Sounds like she’s got you trained very well.
And one of my cats, the solid black one, can speak. I ask him “Who’s a good boy?” and he answers “Meeeeeeeeeee.”
Oh no, no, no. Nothing so crass as “training.” You “train” an animal. I am a devoted man servant of impeccable qualifications (may have fudged a few references). If kitty actually HAS to meow because she wants or needs something, then I have failed - miserably.
