http://www.flowlines.info/vfxreel.html – via digg. This is amazing CGI video. Sharks and water stuff.
It’s a fun watch, definitely, but did anyone else still get that unmistakable “this is CGI” feel from it?
Yeah it falls squarely into the uncanny valley in some spots, and for the sheer size they go with for some of the shots. But the quality is phenomenal. It’s ALL cgi. And that just blows my mind.
Yeah, that “100% CGI Image” logo in the corner really gave it away…
Did anyone else find themselves looking for the Dharma logo? No? OK, never mind then.
Linky no worky, but I guess it´s the same demo reel of a fluids simulation software I saw at the studio a few months ago. There are shots of a shark being fished by a helicopter and then the roles are inverted?
If it´s the same I got a bad case of jaw elongation and drool overflow when I saw it; if there´s one thing I´ve failed miserably when fiddling with fluid simulations is in making realistic bubbles, it´s so darn hard that I´m aching to see just how this software works.
yeah I wondered how long it was until the server went down, but that is indeed the same video.
