Wow this is so neat!
World’s. Coolest. Not an understatement. Take 10 seconds to watch the Fletcher Capstan expandable table video, and the rest of the day off work to recover from your blown mind. Or maybe you’ll disagree that the mesmerizing spinning kaleidoscope of wood is a masterpiece of both carpentry and geometry. But if you do, you’ll be wrong. Incorrect.
The floating table is pretty cool too!

I believe that the Lord Mayor of London has one exactly like that. Anyway I have seen them before somewhere. It is interesting though.

The famous Fletcher Capstan table. I’ve seen one up close (not on a yacht, though.) They are remarkable. Sadly I didn’t get a chance to actuate the mechanism. Here’s a cool video about the making of.
