Aside from the front facias, are these essentially the same vehicle?
The later generation Ambassadors had a 122" wheel-base and were classed as full-size cars. The Matador had a 117" wheel-base and was classed as a mid-size.
Although, let’s face it, with AMC you could never be completely sure about anything.
Matador: More Sporty
Amabassador: More Luxury; Bigger
