America, go vote.

Aren’t there only like 6-8 people in Wyoming? How can that NOT count?

Voted this morning, and was met at the door by one of the candidates for state senate. He’s a Republican, and isn’t getting my vote, but seems like a nice guy. He had a lot of commercials, but he never went negative. I sent him an email later today to thank him for being present, and for running a good clean, issues-focused campaign. He responded pretty quickly with a thank you.

He’s likely going to win - I’m glad that at my little corner of the world is going to be well-represented by a decent person.

Half of registered Floridians voted before election day! I made a bet last night turnout would be 75%, but now I’m thinking closer to 80%. It would blow my mind if it was even higher.

Nah, there are at least 20 of us, and the other 18 are all Republicans.

In Wyoming, folks would elect the Anti-Christ if he had an (R) next to his name, and tell themselves they were good Christian conservatives for doing so!

If we’re reminding people of things like this, let’s emphasize that there’s a lot more than one “who to vote for” issue. Even if people have no opinion on the federal President, every ballot is going to include local representatives and local issues. Often these include proposals to fund schools and police that might actually be more important to daily life than the federal President.

Absentee ballot, sent in weeks ago.

I have to wait till after work here in California. By then, it will most likely all be over.

Don’t nag her too hard. While I think voting is good and important, any individual act of voting (in a state like CA) has about as much impact as picking up a piece of litter, or maybe smiling at someone who seems sad. According to my ethical calculus.

As the wife, I concur. I think our house got egged. Okay maybe not that bad, but I did get glared at for making the lady put me down as democrat.

All I have left to do is take a huge dump and then I’m off to the polls. Ciao!

Done two weeks ago. No TimeWinding involved, I just live in a state that votes by mail.

Yep. Voted the Democratic line, from top to bottom. hopefully this sends a message to those who supported Trump.

I voted so much I came home with 2 stickers! This is Illinois, after all.

However, while I encouraged everyone to get educated and vote their conscience before the election I won’t do so today. I don’t want people who don’t care or don’t understand the process to vote with no preparation. Here’s why, in the form of an actual conversation today:

N: Oh, you voted? Cool, but I never vote.
Me: Why?
N: I know nothing about it and don’t care.
Me: There must be something you care about or that’s important, like women’s rights, religion, guns, anything?
N: Nope, don’t know don’t care and don’t pay attention to the news. But I do know Hillary is a lying bitch.
Me: Sorry you feel that way. BTW, almost every word Trump says is a lie. They’re both selling something. Let’s make this about the issues, not the marketing.
N: Well the good news is at least Obama won’t be president after today.

People like this, who are willfully ignorant and claim not to care, then parrot crap they overheard, are not people I want making these decisions.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that phrase used in the U.S. before.
