If there’s one thing you should do to day, it’s vote if you’ve not already done so. I’m not American so I can’t tell you who to vote for, but I’ll respect your decision whichever way. I can’t say that I’ll like one of those choices, but I’ll respect it.
I voted, I VOTED! Got to the polls 45 minutes before they opened, I was first in line and eventually had nice chats with other early-out-of-bed citizens. By the time I left, the line had 44 people in it. Never has it been that long for a presidential election(I’ve voted at the same location the past 16 years). This I’m dubbing as a good sign for a very high voter turnout %.
They LOVED my “Make The Scary Republican Go Away” T-shirt.
Let’s see…the woman who will do her level best to improve the country, or the baboon who will do his level best to drive it into the ground in serving his own ego. I dunno, I’m not sure…
I have to be at work an hour before the polls open here. Then again, I get off work in the middle of the afternoon, so there shouldn’t be too big of a crowd at the polling place.
That brings up a question I have: My daughter (19y.o.) failed to register to vote despite my nagging, but still wants to vote. Is she SOL or can she register at the polling place? We’re in CA.
The deadline to register or re-register to vote for any election is 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the 15th calendar day before that election. If you submit an application after this time, your application will still be processed for future elections. bolding mine
California’s same-day registration will take effect on January 1 of the year following the year in which the Secretary of State certifies that the state has a statewide voter registration database complies with the requirements of the federal Help America Vote Act of 2002. This will take effect in January 2017.
Voted here in Alabama. Crowded but only took about 5 minutes to get my ballot. Lots of uncontested races and Amendments to the Alabama Constitution, and when I left about 9:15am the machines were registering about 900 voters, with a steady stream still coming in.
Voted Clinton, of course, not that it will make much difference in Ali-Bama.
I wouldn’t bet on it. For the first time since I’ve been here I had to stand in line and wait and this was at 10:30ish. I have a feeling that in many places turn-out is going to be massive.
Thanks gigi. That’s what I thought. I did the usual Googling to find out, but all for naught. She planned on voting for Hillary, but CA will go that way anyway. I’ll crank up the nag machine for the next round.
Yep, live free or die, baby. I was 75% determined to go and then that lovable nerd Chris Hardwick told me to vote, goddamn it, on @midnight so I was convinced.
