America: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

We’ll see if this one takes, it may sink like a stone. Answers don’t have to be exclusive to America, just characteristic of it.

Good: Democracy
Bad: Conspicuous Consumption
Ugly: McDonalds

the politic commentary edition
Good: Bill Maher
Bad: Larry King
Ugly: Bill O’Reilly

cainxinth, I liked the OP one.

And Political Landscape:

The good: Freedom of Speach
The bad: The electoral college
The ugly: **Carnivore **

Reality TV

The good: Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, American Idol
The bad: Am You Hot?
The (really) ugly: Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire

The People Around You

The Good - Outstanding sense of community

The Bad - Puritanical judgmentalism

The Ugly - Stevies as far as the eye can see

The Good: Right to vote
The Bad: Not exercising that right
The Ugly: Diluted power that right actually has

The Good: National Parks system.
The Bad: Drilling for oil in protected wilderness areas.
The Ugly: Fresh Kills landfill, Staten Island, New York (I’ve heard it can be seen from space. True?).

The Good: Democracy
The Bad: Who gets elected.
The Ugly: What elected officials do.

The Good: Free Press
The Bad: Free Press Covers BJs, MJs or OJs instead of real news
The Ugly: Most of Free Press is owned by a few corporate conglomerates, so what the public gets to read/see is diluted and able to be seen on any other media outlet at the same time.

The Good: Knowing that the government is not going to bust down your door and take you away to torture you, nor burn down your house with your family in it while they force you to watch, nor mow down children with machine guns during a non-violent march
The Bad: Glorification of Cluelessness
The Ugly: The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend

good: a thriving technocracy pumping out scientific advancements almost daily
bad: a foreign policy so mangled other countries can’t trust us.
ugly: depressed teenage goths & whiggers

The Good: New York, Minneapolis, Norfolk, Oklahoma City, San Francisco, Chicago
The Bad: Las Vegas
The Ugly: Los Angeles, Omaha
