American Idol performances that have blown you away

Remind me of some wonderful moments.
Bo Bice singing acapello “In a dream”
Hmm, just about everything Bo did I liked but this one stuck out in my mind

Clay Aiken singing “Solitaire”
I liked most of Clay’s performances as well but this one just really stuck with me. I love it.

I found a website that has recordings of the performances but I am unsure about postin links to other sites.

We all understand that the songs that really move a person is highly selective so I would appreciate no one deriding someone else’s choice.

When Fantasia Barino (sp?) did her rendition of “Summertime, and the livings easy” it was recording quality.

Constantine’s version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” made me actually get up and dial the phone.

Chris’ version of “I Walk the Line” was great. I would have bought it.

What a great idea! I’ve been wishing lately that I could have a DVD or something that had all the performances on it, from all the seasons. And then that they were all separate tracks, so I didn’t have to watch ones that I didn’t want to. Maybe somehow be able to even delete the ones I don’t ever wanna see, but keep the great ones.

Bo Bice’s “In a Dream”, of course. And I loved John Stevens’ “King of the Road”. I had an audio clip on my old computer that I used to listen to a lot. See now my mind is blanking because I don’t have all those videos! I know that I was a huge LaToya fan, but I can’t remember a specific performance. And I’m sure Nadia blew me away at some point too.

Connie’s BoRap and Gedeon’s “When a Man…” both made me think differently about a performer that I previously hadn’t liked.

I guess I need to search the net and find some sites that have the clips

Fantasia’s “Summertime” remains the high point of the entire series to me.

I don’t have anything personally that blows my hair back, but my wife just loooooved Anwar Robinson’s “What a Wonderful World”. Found it on the web and burned it to her own personal faves CD.

Kelly Clarkson’s “Stuff Like That There” was the highlight for me. I must have replayed that 20 times.

Link, please?! I only watched the first season, and I’d like to see or hear some of the notable performances from previous seasons.

So far none really come to mind as being mind-blowing, though I certainly remember enjoying some more than others.

Thanks!

I really liked Clay doing “Bridge Over Troubled Water”… and I’m going to admit this, I really loved Justin Guarini doing “Get Here.”

Kelly Clarkson’s “Stuff like that there” was the first episode I ever caught, I was floored and an immediate fan of her and the show.

Kim Locke had some moments that just gave me shivers. I first noticed her doing “Band of Gold” with Frenchie and was impressed but when she did “Home” (The Wiz) and “I Can’t Make You Love Me” I was amazed.

Trenyce’s “I Have Nothing” was a total showstopper, LaToya’s “All By Myself” and George Huff’s “Lean On Me” stand out for me, as well as Carrie Underwood’s version of “Crying”.

I loved Carrie’s performance of Heart’s “Alone”.

“New York State of Mind” by Kimberly Locke

Just amazing.

Add to that Amy Adams’ version of “Sin Wagon”, where she just absolutely nailed it. Could probably take over the Dixie Chicks’ singing duty if Natalie Maines gets sick ;).

Was it Kimberly Locke who sang “It’s raining men”? Whoever sang it was just awesome.

Another vote for Bo’s a cappella performance.

The other one that blew me away was Ruben’s first performance of “Superstar” (I think that’s the name–The Carpenters’ song…)
