Gotta love the scolding tone and schoolmarm language that he uses to attempt to shame the audience that he has been lying to for all this time.

You could make this argument about a lot of things. For example, why do we keep having to send diplomatic missions to North Korea to try to rescue American citizens (often missionaries) who have snuck in despite knowing they’re sure to be caught and the North Koreans won’t be nice about it? Why does the Nepalese government have to undertake expensive, dangerous rescue missions for stupid, unprepared tourists who thought they could be dragged up Mt. Everest and then came down with HAPE? Where does the phrase “at your own risk” play into this?
Weiner’s straight, though, isn’t he? 
And now it comes out the other supposed lesbian who corresponded with the fake Syrian lesbian is ALSO a dude pretending to be a lesbian
His wife is apparently not too happy that he was using her name for his fake lesbian persona.
So basically, the lesson here is that anytime someone online claims to be a lesbian, you should assume it’s a straight guy until it’s proven otherwise.
