Is there a conventional “tube type” television set to be had that is made in the U.S.?
I have a Fisher that won’t quit, but need to replace a Zenith. I sure like that Fisher, but they don’t make them anymore.

No TV sets have been made in the US for a looooong time.
All American branded TVs and such are made overseas with the US company’s label stuck on it.
IIRC, Zenith was one of the last to advertise being made in the USA back in the 1970s but shortly thereafter started producing sets in Mexico, much to the amusement of many.
If this is an issue for you in general, you may use this site:
According to that, there are some foreign owned companies assembling TV’s in the US, though no US owned companies:

Personally, I’m not a big fan of tarrifs, and I’ll buy what I think is the product which best meets my desired tradeoff of price / quality / performance, whomever made it, whereever.
Phillups was still making tubes in Ohio in the mid-ninties. Not sure if they still are.
The most accurate answer is that the last TVs made in the US were Heathkits, assembled in workshops and basements across the land. Heath was a division of Zenith when they folded. Dad and I built our first color console set (tube type) in the mid 1960’s, did another (solid state) in the early 1970’s, and I still use the last one Dad did by himself in the 1980’s.
