Did the USA (or South America) have slave brothels staffed with negro slaves like they did in antiquity (with other slaves)?
Reviews of Brothels, Depravity, and Abandoned Women: Illegal Sex in Antebellum New Orleans, by Judith Kelleher Schafer, indicate that brothels in New Orleans in the 1850s often had free women of color, as well as white women and slaves. Probably the book itself would have more detail.
