Their new ad proves it!

I’d rather watch a Real Housewives show than that piece of crap again.
This is worthy of inclusion in the “stoopid republican idea of the day” thread…
I love the watery red eyes.
Scoff at it all you want, but that is an effective ad. It presents a logical argument as to why one should vote against the Dems, using sentiments that hit a chord of truth for some people who have been supporters of Obama.
You don’t think women will find it patronizing?
Oh, I’m sure some will. But for others, those for whom the disappointment is top of mind, this, I think, will help them take that final step.
You think that this will make them vote for Republicans? Most people who are disappointed in Obama are disappointed because he hasn’t been able to do some of the things he promised.
I don’t see how that translates into voting for people who are against those things and in some cases are responsible for obstructing his attempts to deliver on those things.
Anyone with a brain will see it for what it is and will be offended that someone thinks that they will be swayed by a cutesy analogy to their love life. “This will persuade them. They’re women. You have to talk about romance to get through to them!”
Oh yeah. That’ll work.
Well, I guess you and pretty much the rest of the world will have to disagree. They actually highlight one of the most popular features of Obamacare with women - free contraceptive care. Read the article in the SRIOTD thread.
It’s kind of cute, I guess. I’ve certainly seen worse ads out there. But I’ve also seen better.
Don’t get magellan01 get to you: here is the last Republican that he probably thought would go over very well with women voters.
Not even close to Paul Ryan pushing granny off a cliff, but rather laughable.
It occurs to me that if you want to find a message that appeals to women, you might want to try listening to them.
I think it’s pretty slick. Taking advantage of disappointment in Obama is at least a way to get their foot in the door. Imagine you’re a Republican PR boss. What else could you offer to women in particular? A return to more traditional societal norms? Glorify women who abstain from pre-martial sex and get married or keep the babies instead of aborting? Yeah, no.
Yeah, well, there’s a problem with that: It would involve listening to them.
Im find it hard to believe this women who found Obama so smart with “all the right values,” is disappointed with him now. And I’m not sure why, exactly, she has changed her views. (“Have you sen the news?” doesn’t say much). The whole thing is obnoxious. “I voted for Obama because he’s so dreamy, but I’ve changed my mind because I’ve watched too much Fox News” about sums it up."
The people I know who vipoted for Obama don’t regret their decision and certainly do not want a Republican Senate.
…which would be what, exactly?
Has any woman told you so?
And we get enough of that at home! Amirite fellas? And by fellas, I mean wealthy, white, middle-aged men with traditional values and healthy retirement accounts! I mean, my wife would vote for the candidate who offers tax breaks for getting her nails done, hahahah! High five!
The ad is great, actually. Not nearly as condescending as “Life of Julia” that depicted a woman dependent on government her entire life. Plus I’m not even sure it’s targeted at women so much as meant to be a cute way to recap how America had a love affair with a certain candidate who promised to be different but was just more of the same old DC culture of politics, spin, and unaccountability. Actually, I think Obama made it quite a bit worse, but you don’t need to push the argument that far to remind people of the broken promise that is Barack Obama.
