Well you see, that’s what makes it even worse; we don’t even have decent food.
We’re surly, dyspeptic French! And they’re surly to start with, so it’s twice the surliness, and with aircraft carriers, tank divisions, and nuclear weapons!
Yeah, the beatings I never receive, the overtime I’m paid on time, without quibble, the training, tools and vehicle I’m provided to do my job, the tuition reimbursement I’ve received, the vacation and sick time, health insurance, none of that is covered under our labor laws.
Oh wait, maybe that’s because I was taught that to advance myself and earn a better living, I need to quit whining about social injustice, and to go out and get myself educated, and apply myself to my job with a decent work ethic.
But I’m sure I could be an internet loser if I applied myself, and then I too could sit around whining about how much my life/job/country sucks, and how the government needs to do everything for me.
The rest of your post is pretty much the sort of simplistic drivel that I have come to expect from our new global trend of sloppy dichotomous thinking and shallow analysis, mixed in with a healthy dose of unexamined nationalism.
Carry on; you’ll make a fine addition to Great Debates or MPSIMS.
In closing, next time you want to express your own superiority, you may want to make certain that you don’t come off looking like a barely literate moron. Perhaps your next rant will be about the failure of the Canadian education system to teach you proper spelling and grammar?
I’m going to quote this in one whole chunk 'cause I’m too lazy to break it up.
1)Clearly I was talking corporations that register on non-marsupial radar. Some noodnink owning a bookstore hardly qualifies. But if you want to be counted amongst them for purposes of self-agrandizement feel free.
2)Never said anything about “average” Americans. I specifically aimed it at americans who don’t agree with me. Don’t accuse me of tarring the average American when I believe that the “average American” - if such a thing there be - dislikes what their country has become as much as I do. If I’m wrong so be it and the “average American” can feel free to feel pitted.
3)Never mentionned gun-ownership and sure as hell not in connection with evolution. I live in rural Manitoba bud, every 3rd person owns at least one gun. <— no, I can’t provide a cite for exactly 1/3 of rural Manitobans own firearms, I pulled it out of my ass but a great many of us do.
4)Didn’t say I agree 100% with every (hell with any) Canadian politician either. Just that I virulently loathe America’s actions during the last 60 years with especial emphasis placed on the last 30 or so.
It is a sad testament to my nation that not all (but thankfully the majority)Canadians think the American way is wrong-headed and evil. I deride your country for poisoning mine through osmosis. I weep for mine for allowing it.
6)I never said all Yanks are the same (that would be racist if “American” constituted a race. I specified the ones who don’t agree with me (It’s hidden in the title). Are you saying all Americans agree that Yankmerica has been a bastion of wonderment and global joy? Now who’s being a generalist?
7)I absolutely love independant booksellers! I truly do hope that your business thrives - or at least does well enough that you can continue to make a living off of what I consider to be a [del]valuable[/del] vital service.
This is exemplary of the attitude that has lead 'Mericaville to the desperate straits they’ve dragged the rest of the fucking world into. And thanks for it
Why don’t you use the multi-quote button, you loathsome sot? Just hit the button for each post and respond all at once instead of driving up your post count.
And quit using the smileys. No one actually likes you. It’s like saying “Man I hate niggers!” at an NAACP meeting and then giving everyone a nice big grin to let em know we’re all just having a friendly discussion.
