Why do the Amish have no mustaches? I understand that the beard thing is some sort of symbol of maturity(or marriage), but why do they never have mustaches?

They have no mustaches for the same reason they have beards: fashion and tradition.
In other words–just because.
I can’t find the reference, but I remember reading that Amish men do not wear mustaches because at sometime in the past, they were protesting against (or did not wish to resemble) some military body whose members did traditionally wear mustaches. Sorry my memory is so hazy, but it’s something like that.
