Does anyone know of a program that would let me search for a word or phrase on a Web page? Because sometimes I will Google a topic, and the search engine will return a page, but the page is so incredibly long that it becomes very difficult to locate the particular text that I want.
Yes, it’s called a “web browser.”
Try looking for something in the menus labeled “Find.”

Ah. Right in front of my face, it was. I feel brilliant.
The Google toolbar has a highlighter feature, where you can highlight words on a page in different colours, as well as a search-page feature.
Even easier, if you look at Google’s cached copy, rather than the original page (Click “Cached” next to the URL on the results page) then Google highlights the words you have searched for.
Wicked. I never knew that. Works great.
If you use Mozilla (d/l it from www.mozilla.org ), you can search for any word on any page, simply by starting typing.
