An eccentric billionaire is buying. What'll you have?

If you ever find yourself in Barcelona, give Gigamesh a try. No, no l: it’s a reference to quadrichromie. No capuccino either but there’s several bars nearby.

I want my grandma’s flat, fixed up and purchased not for its market value but for the value of “however much grandma’s old folks’ home ends up costing through her lifetime”.

For the win. You have my PM for the invite.

Duane Allman’s '57 Les Paul Goldtop guitar.
In my hands it would be useless but by owning it I would meet some world class guitar players who would want a chance to play it.

Be sure to post the location, Drumbum; I’ll be there!

Considering price is no object, I’m having trouble thinking of anything I’d like that isn’t trivially cheap compared to a billion dollars. All I can think of right now is either a new car or a pallet load of ammunition (I’d ask for more than a pallet load but realistically I couldn’t move or store it).

Does that include us that aren’t Members to this wonderful website?:o

Well, my desiderata is generally travel, so I first thought about my own plane. Then, I thought about a great Manhattan apartment that I could house-swap for incredible places to stay all around the world (my own downtown Chicago condo does pretty well on that score already). After much too much concentration, it occurred to me that there are places to stay in foreign cities *that can also be moved around. * They’re called yachts.

I’ve never been aboard anything bigger than a cabin cruiser, but I think that’s my wish.

Easy:

Just a simple car

In black, with the Twin 6 engine (V-12, for the great unwashed)

Its a toss up. Yes, I’d love a huge brick house on a hilltop of 20 acres of land to grow grapes and produce wine.

Still, if I’m going to be truly selfish? An Aston Martin DBS. In silver.

What I want…I want to know why a Billionaire was hiding in the bushes.
Is there something interesting back there?

An MLB team (the Dodgers, of course) would be nice, but less interesting because I can’t profit off of it, and I’m not smart enough to be able to run it properly, anyway. But thinking along those lines, my choice would clearly be to buy this.

I’d like a big ol’ chunk of land way out in the country, please, probably in Oregon but Washington and Idaho aren’t out of the question. I’d like there to be areas on the land where I can find gemstones and a decent sized house with a shop where I can cut and polish the stones I find. And I like for there to be someone who can teach me how to do that for a while.

The house doesn’t have to be fancy. Hardwood floors would be nice, a sun porch too, and I’d like a bathroom with a nice big shower stall. Heck, maybe even throw in a sauna as well. A pretty view would be a good thing too.

I’d also like two large goldfish ponds. One indoors and one outdoors, with a passage connecting them, so I can herd the goldfish inside if eagles or herons or raccoons are considering munching on them.

Is it OK if I barter? Could I trade the use of some land, say, to a local rancher for various essentials? I could do the same with the gemstones I find too.

Like Lasciel, what I really want is the time and supplies to pursue all my hobbies.

However, if I really need to pick an object, I’ll take the Amber Room. I’ve always wanted to see it. Don’t quite know where I am going to put it though…

The Algonquin Hotel. So much history n the heart of NYC. And a cool place to live.
