An electrical code question

Is there an approved way to install a GFCI in a two wire circuit?
Our house was built in the 1950s, and we have aquariums. There are pumps, heaters, lights and various other devices running on 110v coonected to power strips. I have caught slight shocks at various times, salt water being quite conductive.

Thanks.

Yes, instructions should come with the outlet. The GFCI doesn’t need a third wire ground to work, and it’s a good idea for any outlet without 3 wires. The GFCI outlet is looking for a difference in current between the hot and ground sides and only 2 wires are needed.

Thanks, TriPolar, that is very good news.
